This colt is a phenomenal specimen and we felt that he was the best individual of his type in the entire sale at Book 2 of Tattersalls Yearlings Sales at Newmarket. He is extremely well-made with tremendous presence and a huge walk. On top of this he is by the extremely exciting first season sire Australia, winner of the Derby, Irish Derby and Juddmonte International Stakes. We were fortunate that his sale came at the end of the night as we felt that he could potentially have achieved double his purchase price - his acquisition later caused quite a stir from several prominent trainers who were keen to throw their hats into the ring! This colt is currently unnamed and all owners will be invited make name suggestions.
His sire: AUSTRALIA is exceptionally well-bred, being a son of the great sire Galileo out of the Champion racemare Ouija Board. He was a Group 3 winner at two (by six lengths!) and at three finished third on his seasonal return in the 2,000 Guineas, prior to triumphing in the Derby, Irish Derby and then against older horses in the Juddmonte International Stakes. He is sire strongly tipped to potentially take over at Coolmore Stud from his own sire, Galileo, and many of his yearlings fetched huge sums at the sales.

His dam: QUIET DOWN was a useful juvenile winner in America and was also Listed placed at top racetrack Delaware Park. She is the dam of five winners from seven runners to date and these are headed by the Listed race winner Quiet Meadow, who was also placed on numerous occasions in Graded races. Quiet Down is also closely-related to the USA Champion 2yo colt Action This Day and her grandam Bitty Girl was the Champion 2yo filly in England.
