The handsome gelding Wise Fox is our first horse in training with rising star Newmarket trainer Charlie Fellowes. He was purchased at Doncaster's Silver Yearling Sale, a sale which has proved a rich source of excellent value graduates, including the 2016 Group 1 Commonwealth Cup (Royal Ascot) and Haydock Sprint Cup winner Quiet Reflection. This son of Foxwedge has a great walk and should prove to be another excellent value purchase. Charlie Fellowes has been thrilled with him since his arrival in Newmarket, he believes that he is a very nice horse with a big future ahead of him, he likes him very much indeed. He moves extremely well, has a long stride, and breezes up Warren Hill in good style! Although he has shown plenty of ability, he wasn't quite mature enough to run as a two-year-old but is likely to be ready to make his racecourse debut early in 2018.
His sire: FOXWEDGE was a Group 1-winning sprinter by the Champion Sire Fastnet Rock. He was rated 128 by Timeform, the same rating as prolific sire Starspangledbanner. Foxwedge was a real speedster in Australia, just like other successful sires such as Fastnet Rock and Exceed And Excel, winning a Group 3 over 5.5f, a Group 2 over 6f, and the Group 1 Power Tracker William Reid Stakes over 6f. He has already made a tremendous start to his career as a stallion in Australia, where he was Champion 2nd Season Sire in 2016/2017. He is the sire of the multiple Group 1 and 2 winner Foxplay and several other Group and Stakes winners.

His dam: DAHEEYA was trained by Mick Channon and ran three times as a two-year-old. She finished third in a 6f Newmarket maiden on her racecourse debut in May as two-year-old and, after failing to handle very soft conditions on her next start, ran out an easy 3-length winner of an 11-runner 7f maiden at Doncaster. Daheeya is a half-sister to the Group race performer King Electric out of the Listed race winner Kind Regards. It also the family of the Gr.1 winner White Heart and Champion Canadian racehorse Rainbow Connection.
