This well-bred filly is Biddestone Racing’s first venture into France to take advantage of the enhanced prize money available, particularly to French-bred horses. This filly was born at La Motteraye and is fully eligible for the Owners Premiums which typically add 54% to all prizemoney won. Prize money in France is already significantly ahead of that in the UK and the addition of these handsome Owners Premiums makes it even more attractive.
5% Ownership Shares are now available at a cost of £2,500 followed by monthly payments of £175 for Training/French Racing Fees
The cost of purchasing ownership is only payable once (upon joining the syndicate) and in accordance with our terms will entitle you to a share of prize money and any future sale proceeds.
The Training/French Racing fees cover the period to the end of October 2022 and can be paid monthly (as above, 1st payment due with application) or you can make two annual payments of £1,875 (1st payment due with application).

This well-bred filly was born at Barton Stud in England and raised at La Motteraye Stud, France (a highly respected stud farm in Normandy, France), and now a two-year-old. She was foaled on 5th March 2019, out of the Biddestone Stud mare, Soniechka.
She is a good-bodied and athletic filly who has been trouble-free throughout her short life to date and as with any young horse, it is comforting to know this aspect of her history.
The filly is by a solid commercial stallion in Dabirsim, who was a precocious racehorse, being Champion 2-year-old colt in 2011 and joint top-rated 2yo in Europe, winning two Group 1s as a 2-year-old.
Dabirsim stood his first season as a stallion in Germany in 2014 before moving to Haras de Grandcamp in France two years later. The best known of his progeny in the UK would be Different League who won the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot and was twice Group 1 placed as a 2-year-old in the Prix Morny at Deauville and the Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket
The dam Soniechka is out of the hugely successful mare Party Doll, who won three times in Listed company as a racehorse and then as a broodmare produced no fewer than 11 winners, 4 of which were black-type winners, including Titus Livius who was bred by the Niarchos family and stood as a successful stallion in Ireland. Perhaps of particular note is the fact that five of Party Doll’s daughters (and sisters to Soniechka) have gone on to produce black-type winners, so it is clearly a productive family.
Russian Doll spent 10 weeks in pre-training at the renowned Haras de Maulepaire under the guidance of Gerard de Tarragon and is now in training with the young, up and coming trainer Edouard Monfort who is based at the Merve training centre near Le Mans, west of Paris. He is from a leading racing family, he comes highly recommended to us and has made an excellent start to his racing career, currently operating at a 20+% strike-rate in 2021. Edouard’s website can be found at: –
Russian Doll is certainly pleasing her trainer. She is maturing and strengthening all the time and is taking everything that is asked of her in her stride, which is always particularly gratifying to see. It is very much expected that we will see her racing as a two-year old.
We are excited about our first French syndicate horse and particularly with this promising home-bred filly. If you would like to be part of the adventure or would like further information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
